Prevention of Home Accidents: An Opportunity for Health Promotion
The major purpose of teaching health principles is to secure the highest development of the human body. Based on this premise, the present study investigates the various factors that affect family health sustenance. Utilising data from primary and secondary sources, the paper argues that adult literacy and home economics education campaigns have an important role to play in family health development. The experience of a sample of one hundred home-accident hospital cases examine, is highlighted. The study reveals that there is a positive correlation between the frequency of home accidents and hygienic factors. It is concluded that more efforts should be made to promote adult and home science education in order to enhance general family health and welfare. The first section of this paper provides a theoretical setting for the paper, where some of the factors that could lead to home accidents are examined in broad terms. Suggestions on home accident-prevention measures are then presented. The last section contains the conclusions of the paper.
