Community Stories and Indicators for Evaluating Community Development
This article proposes two different approaches to evaluating community development activity. It argues that a community story approach is appropriate to evaluate the community development efforts which communities control. This approach is useful for the ongoing refinement of those efforts. For community development which is driven by government and other outside agendas, it is possible to develop community development indicators which reflect community values. Some examples are given.
