This article examines the performance of a voluntary organization in organizing the local community for managing a community park. It focuses on the nature and conditions of popular involvement, with an aim to elicit some broad lessons for similar voluntary organizations. Such lessons may be of value to development practitioners, NGO workers and policy makers.
