Liquefaction of Firoozkuh Sand Under Volumetric-Shear Coupled Strain Paths
Abstract Restriction on volume change during shear may lead to flow liquefaction of loose sands. The behaviors of loose Firoozkuh no. 161 sand specimens subjected to shear with coupling between the volumetric and shear strains are investigated here. The experimental data indicate that the sand behavior is remarkably influenced by the volume change pattern in volumetric-shear coupled strain paths.
