Work of a bronze-graphite turbine shaft seal and its repair
Conclusions 1. The pull of the springs of the graphite shaft seal during repair should be selected by the method presented. The amount of pull is individual for each hydrostation. 2. When designing a shaft seal, the effect of water pressure under the turbine cover on its work should be excluded. 3. Graphite rings should be ground on the rotating shaft of the unit, if its slow rotation is possible.
