Flux Pinning of High Temperature Superconductors and their Applications
Abstract In this paper, I first summarize how critical current density is determined in oxide superconductors, with an emphasis placed on flux pinning. Second, the defects which are considered to be effective in flux pinning in melt processed Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductors are reviewed, along with the methods to introduce effective pinning centers. Finally I introduce some applications of bulk oxide superconductors which exhibit a large flux pinning force.
