Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (Promethee)
Many forms of decision aid have been suggested with multi-criteria decision analysis. All of these methods start from the same assessment table, but vary depending on the additional information they request. The Preference Ranking Organization Method For Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE) approaches need very simple external knowledge, which both decision-makers and observers quickly access. The goal of all methods with multi-criteria is to enrich the dominance graph, i.e. reduce the incomparabilities. Once the utility function is designed, the question of multi-criteria is reduced to a single problem of criterion for which there is an optimal solution. It sounds simplistic as it depends on pretty firm premises and totally changes the decision issue structure. This is why Brans suggested building outstanding relationships including only realistic enrichments of the relationship of dominance. In that case, the incomparabilities are not all removed but the information is reliable. In this study the detailed information of the PROMETHEE technique will be presented.
