Electroflotation in Waste Water Treatment: Results and Perspectives
The principles of electroflotation, a separation process, are described in a generalised form. The physicochemical role of electrolytic gas bubbles in the process of seawage purification, the analysis of bubble mineralisation mechanisms and the character of phase interaction is described. The operation of other electrochemical processe, accompanying electroflotation, namely electrodialysis, electrophoresis, electrocoaggulation, etc., taking place simultaneously with the main process under its conditions is presented. Optimization of electroflotation apparatus construction for sewage purification is discussed. Energetic and economics aspects related to the process are considered.
