Design Guidelines for Precast Structures with Cladding Panels in Seismic Zones
Abstract The paper presents a summary of the results of the experimental and analytical research on Improved fastening systems of cladding wall panels of precast buildings in seismic zones, performed within the scope of the European Project Safecladding (EU Programme FP7-SME-2012-2 – Grant Agreement n. 314122), as codified in the pertinent documents issued by the research Consortium in terms of Design Guidelines for practical applications. Further than the investigation on the current fastening systems and the related acceptability analysis for existing structures, the paper deals with the specific design criteria for the isostatic, integrated and dissipative fastening systems that should be the basis for the new precast constructions in seismic zones.
