Results of a study of limestones at the Inguri hydroelectric power plant
Conclusions 1. The character of the (E1, σ1) curve, which is an equilateral hyperbola, makes it possible to determine: a) the integral value of the natural stresses in the rock mass over the foundation of the whole area beneath a plate; b) the relation between the deformation modulus, determined by the static method, and the dynamic modulus of elasticity. 2. Repeated loading of the foundation enables us to predict by an indirect method the approximate effect obtainable by cementing a particular sector of ledge rock.
