Towards Sustainable Aviation: Commercialization Factors and Indicators for Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is gaining prominence as a pivotal solution in the pursuit of decarbonizing aviation and mitigating the pressing issues of the current energy crisis and climate change. This paper reviews the critical role of SAF in sustainable aviation transition. The conventional jet fuel significantly contributes to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, accounting for 2.7% of the total. While SAF offers a compelling solution by reducing emission ranging 65% to 85% with high energy efficiency. The study emphasizes the commercialization indicators to SAF commercialization: sustainable technology, global supply chain in regards of policy suggestions aligning with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainable technology and global supply chain model for SAF in regards of emission reduction and cost optimization is highly required to SAF commercialization. The global alliance and particular policy can eliminate the commercialization factors of SAF.
