Support for Green Logistics Using the GTAlg Tool
Abstract This article addresses the available options of using the GTAlg (Green Travelling Algorithm) tool, being the basic feature of Green Travelling Planner (GT Planner). GTAlg may be expanded to support the implementation of the green logistics concept. GTAlg is an algorithm for establishing a route in a transport network based on the A* algorithm. Each route defined for the chosen means of transport and current temporary travelling conditions is characterised by specific emission of harmful substances. GTAlg, as one of few tools, enables setting the transfer route with a pre-defined estimated emission of harmful substances. Taking advantage of this specific feature of the GTAlg tool, alternative methods of defining an optimum transfer route, with the negative environmental impact being minimised, have been discussed in this article. In describing the manner in which GTP was used for the above purpose, different parameters of the transport network have been taken into consideration.
