A Case of Triaxial Testing of Frozen Soils
Triaxial compression testing of frozen soils is analyzed, emerging problems are discussed, and the solutions are proposed. A lack of reasonable regulatory recommendations for triaxial testing by the kinematic loading scheme for frozen soils is observed. Static loading methods, the value of loading steps, criteria for test completion, and principles for the experimental determination of long-term strength are discussed.
