Lively Models
Scale and Three-Dimensional Representation in the Pavilions and Prototypes of Modern Architecture
Models have always been a useful instrument for prefiguring the construction, initially overcoming economic and technical problems, since the model is manufactured in general before the building, achieving a speed of execution that the technical complexity of the construction does not allow.
The aim of this work is to establish a parallel between the model, whose theoretical premieres have yet to be included in the history of architecture and representation, and other architectural experiments of the 20th century, such as the prototypes of modern housing and the pavilions of the exhibitions in which the architecture of the Modern Movement sought to make itself known to the general public.
Comparing these three so important elements for the three-dimensional definition of the architectural project, and so complementary to its own graphic definition, we intend to make a new reading for the study of these parallel mechanisms of ideation and diffusion of architecture.
