The article substantiates the operation of a vacuum shaft energy dissipator. A vacuum shaft spillway ensures reliable operation of the spillway structure. All excess energy of the discharged water is dissipated in the shaft, and only the energy necessary for releasing this water flow through the discharge tunnel remains.
