Hydrogenation of aromatic nitro compounds on palladium-containing anion-exchange resins
Abstract Hydrogenation of aromatic nitro compounds to the corresponding amines on palladium-containing anion-exchange resins has been studied under mild conditions. It has been found that stericity has a significant effect on the activity and selectivity of the hydrogenation reaction. High efficiency of the palladium-containing anion-exchange resins in the synthesis of aromatic amines has been demonstrated. Halonitrobenzenes undergo intense dehalogenation resulting in a low yield of the corresponding amine.
