Conclusion The investigations permit recommending the ultrasonic method for inspection and flaw detection of joints of precast-monolithic penstocks of PSS. This nondestructive inspection method has a sufficient reliability for field conditions. Ultrasonic flaw detection of the joints of precast-monolithic penstocks was adopted as the main and most large-scale type of field inspection at the construction site of the Zagorsk PSS.
