Engineering Science and Philosophy/Ethics—How Do They Fit Together?
The interplay of the scientific disciplines of Philosophy and Engineering seems a bit unusual at first and rarely forms a conceptual unity. Does good Engineering need philosophical insights? Isn’t it primarily important that Engineers have a wide range of practical knowledge? It is by no means obvious to everyone that moral reflection and engineering practice are connected. Automated decision-making processes in the course of a construction project are among the modern technologies that we have to think about it morally and philosophically (Fig. 4.1 and 4.2).
