Graphic Study of the Former Headquarters of the Heart of Mary School of Zamora: An Educational Complex that Died of Success

The old Heart of Mary School was the main male school in Zamora of the last century. It is intended to make a double account that combines the origin and evolution of the local Claretian community and the venues that it used at all times. This has been possible through the compilation of documentation of various kinds, with which a graphic analysis of the successive stages presented by the building has been carried out to clarify the morphology of the school in all its historical moments.
The Claretian buildings originated with a mission house next to the church of San Esteban, to later build the original school. The increase in enrollment led to the construction of two building enlargements to form an educational complex that colonized part of the perimeter of the General Primo de Rivera square located in the historical center. The building closed its doors to move to another point in the city due to the impossibility of facing the progressive increase in the demand for students and the new legislative requirements regarding education.
