Numerical Analysis of Monopile Behavior Under Short-Term Cyclic Loading
Abstract A numerical model to analyze the behavior of monopile foundation under short-term cyclic lateral loading is presented here. On the basis of subroutine UMAT provided by the finite element program ABAQUS, the generalized theory of plasticity proposed by Pastor-Zienkiewicz is implemented in this model. Using the numerical model, the behavior of monopile under short-term cyclic loading is presented in this study. Numerical results show that the deflection of monopile and the excess pore water pressure within the soil around the pile increase with the number of cycles.
