Patna is an ancient city of India that has seen many chapters of history, no doubt urbanisation has also hit this city making it the most urbanised city of Bihar but this old and historical city has developed with unplanned urbanisation. As urbanisation is one of the important aspects of development, unplanned urbanisation can change the entire development perspective. To overcome this issue government has taken various steps, one of which is the smart city mission in which Patna is selected as one of the hundred smart cities in India. This paper aims to study the smart city mission as a check on unplanned development in Patna, its success rate, and its potential. The Paper also studies the condition of the city before this project, its present scenario, and future expectation of people with making Patna smart.
