Cyclic Behaviour of End-Plate Beam-To-Column Composite Joints
Abstract The behaviour of joints under cyclic loading, when compared to the corresponding static monotonic response, presents the added difficulty of degradation of strength and stiffness in successive loading cycles. Composite joints in seismic regions must provide adequate performance under load reversal, with good energy dissipation. To try to provide some additional insight into this problem, an experimental research program on end-plate beam-to-column composite joints under cyclic loading carried out at the University of Coimbra is described in this paper.
