Early age test on sugarcane bagasse ash supplementary cementitious material treated with different water
Abstract The aim of the research work is to determine the early age properties of sugarcane bagasse ash cement (SCBA). The early age test investigated in this work is initial and final setting time and compressive strength tests. The test results were compared with ordinary Portland cement. The SCBA were replaced at 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% proportions of cement content with different types of water like distilled water, seawater and groundwater. Results indicated that compressive strength increases with increasing replacement percentages (0%, 5%, 10%, 15 wt% and 20 wt%) of sugarcane bagasse ash and seawater accelerates the cement hydration at early stage, but retarded the later stage of hydration.
