Hydrocarbons in Porous Media
Abstract Hydrocarbons are understood as either light immiscible liquids (LIL) or heavy immiscible liquids (HIL). Their phenomenological behaviour is of main interest because the constitutive assumptions are the crucial point in numerical modeling. Subsequent to a short description of the term “hydrocarbon” and an argumentation of the new expressions LIL and HIL a brief historical review of research is presented in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 shows and explains in detail various experiments in the laboratory and the field. Chapter 3 compares LIL and HIL from phenomenological point of view in order to formulate consistent models. Existing models are discussed briefly.
