Conclusions 1. Reconstruction of the Dnepr hydrostation and construction of Dnepr-II was carried out successfully. To increase the operating reliability of the dam it is necessary to provide effective operation of the drainage system in the foundation and dam. 2. The static behavior of the Dnepr dam is characterized by a thermal stress state of the concrete with extreme values of opening of the joints and of the hydrostatic levels in April and October. 3. In the future it is necessary to determine the effect of gas on a change in the seepage resistance of the rock foundation and hydrostatic levels; to establish the hydraulic communication between the joints and contact plane of the foundation.
