Structure and Dynamics of Supercooled Fluids
Abstract The results of molecular dynamics simulations of Lennard-Jones systems in the meta-stable supercooled state are presented. The variation of various time-correlation functions and transport coefficients with temperature is discussed and compared with recently developed mode-coupling theories. The temperature dependence of the viscosity and coefficient of self-diffusion is well described by a power law with an exponent μ = 1.8, in close agreement with the prediction of mode coupling models.
