Current Status of QZSS and Pilot Experiments in South East Asia
In this paper, we report the current status and utilizations of Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), Japanese regional positioning satellites system, and introduce some applications such as machine control for construction, smart agriculture, and so on. Mainly we focus on the pilot experiment using with Multi-GNSS Advanced Demonstration tool for Orbit and Clock Analysis (MADOCA) in Thailand. In comparison between MADOCA and RTK, RMS of 2.65 cm in the horizontal direction and 4.44 cm in the vertical direction was obtained in the low-latitude region where ionosphere disturbances like Plasma bubble are considered to be large. It can be concluded that this result is accurate enough for agriculture and construction machine control in low-latitude region. In areas where continuous observation reference station (CORS) is sparse or where internet communication networks are not available, high-precision positioning using MADOCA by QZSS is useful.
