On Shear Settlement of Driven Piles in Subsiding Soils
The article considers the results of testing by static vertical loads of driven piles up to 28 m long in subsiding soils with their support on dense sands and clays. A comparison of experimental shear settlements corresponding to the full mobilization of friction forces on the piles lateral surface with those calculated by known methods is presented. The dependence for determining the reference pile settlement taking into account the recommended shear settlement is given.
