A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The hydraulic losses of a hydropower screw have to be analyzed and calculated to be able to determine the efficiency of a hydropower screw.
Hydraulic losses occur from the inlet structure to the point where the water exits from the screw. Each of these losses is analyzed in this chapter, and equations are given. This is the prerequisite for the efficiency and optimization calculations. The optimization is used to maximize the mechanical output power of the hydropower screw.
