Construction in Nature Versus Nature of Construction
Abstract Unplanned urbanization often leads to environmental degradation which is also related to economic development. The present study highlights the contemporary issues arising out of urban environmental degradation such as urban heat islands, air pollution, and sick building syndrome. Solutions are sought through natural habitats found in nature and attempts at their adaptation and implementation are highlighted. Green building concepts are proposed as a viable alternative.
