Techno-economic Feasibility Analysis of Optimized Stand-alone PV and Hybrid Energy Systems for Rural Electrification in INDIA
This paper concedes an alternative solution of power generation for rural area electrification in INDIA. The information for energy resources available for selected rural vicinity like (Beohari and Devlond) Shahdol, M.P., INDIA is accumulated and supported on these two energy models PV alone and PV-Hydro are to be proposed and developed in HOMER PRO software. Economic optimization examine is act upon for checking the feasibility of the proposed system for electrification. A simulation model is developed in HOMER PRO software to evaluate the solar potential in the region, to authenticate the results and to confirm the principle. Consequences show that the two selected locations are showing promising performances with the application of the renewable energy sources. When the solar PV alone is used, the total net present cost is 63,850 in rupees (per kW) while with the PV/Hydro system the net present cost is 701,938 in rupees (per kW) with corresponding levelized cost of energy (per kWh) is 1.22 and 13.25 respectively resulting in reduction of overall cost of the energy systems.
