Considerations on the Teaching of Graphic Representation of Heritage
This article will discuss a series of considerations concerning the teaching of graphic representation of heritage, based on experience gained from several years of teaching this optional component of the Architectural Studies degree at the University of Zaragoza. These considerations will be a reflection on the subject’s importance in an architect’s training, the most suitable teaching methodology, the role of digital tools in the subject, and the importance of the correct case study selection from a didactic perspective and the quality of the results. An eminently practical and comprehensive teaching methodology is advocated, applied to real case studies (hands-on learning), based on setting criteria rather than focusing on procedures. The aim is for the student to acquire a broad perspective of the available digital technologies and to understand their potential uses in the processes involved in architectural surveying.
