Structural Systems for Cable Suspended Bridges
Abstract The paper describes a number of the features related to the choice of the structural system for cable suspended bridges, i.e. cable stayed bridges and suspension bridges. For the cable stayed bridges most of the text deals with the conventional three span arrangement found in the major part of the existing cable suspended bridges, whereas the problems related to a multispan arrangement are treated for both the cable stayed and the suspension system.
