Calculation of the Underground Structure at Limit States
The large number of heterogeneous factors that determine the design scheme, the construction of which should be based on a combination of operational, design, geotechnical and technological features, makes it impossible to formulate a closed problem of optimization of an underground structure, a single mechanical system consisting of natural and artificial load-bearing structural parts in the form of a rock mass and lining. This makes it necessary to build various models describing significantly different mathematical systems, which are combined into enlarged algorithmic blocks in the form of simpler block diagrams and auxiliary programs. The calculation should consist of a consistent evaluation of partially discrete options for design solutions to ensure the operational safety and economy of the structure, considering options that are mutually equivalent in terms of their ability to perform the functions assigned to them, in order of increasing degree of stability and, accordingly, cost.
