Alkylation of benzene and toluene with chloromethyl-gem-dichlorocyclopropanes
Abstract By alkylation of benzene and toluene with chloromethyl-gem-dichlorocyclopropanes in the presence of AlCl3, the corresponding 3,3-dichloroalkenyl derivatives have been obtained. It has been shown that methylation of the ring reduces the reactivity of substituted gem-dichlorocyclopropanes.
