Stochastic Fatigue Reliability Analysis of Jacket Type Offshore Structures
Abstract The exploitation of offshore energy resources, which becomes increasingly popular, is moving to deep water environments where high uncertainties exist. Structures to be built in such environments should be designed on the basis of the reliability calculation by which, for a planned period of time, the probability of the structural survival can be estimated. The reliability calculation of offshore structures is a difficult task due to the random nature of loading conditions, and also due to insufficient information of the structural failure under these conditions. The dynamic character of random environmental loads makes the calculation more difficult. A stochastic assessment of the reliability analysis of offshore structures is therefore inevitable.
