Influence of Ga Doping on Multiferroic Behaviour of Modified BiMnO3-BaTiO3 Ceramics
The influence of Ga3+ ion doping on the multiferroic properties of BiMnO3-BaTiO3 ceramic with a general formula of 50BiMn(1-x)GaxO3-50BaTiO3 (BMGx-BT) has been investigated. The Fourier transformation infra-red (FT-IR) spectra revealed that Ga3+ addition shows the gradual spectral change associated with the superposition effect of M–O (where M is Mn3+ or Ga3+) bond lengths in octahedra. The magnetic study (M-H loop) revealed the transition of para to ferro with the addition of Ga content. The maximum remnant magnetization (Mr) was observed for x = 0.2, ascribed to increment in particle size. The effective ferroelectricity was also found for all the samples, and the highest remnant polarization (Pr) value 0.55μc/cm2 was noticed at 3.0 kV/cm.
