Structure Bridge Span of Polymer Composite Materials
The use of polymer composite materials can now be considered a global trend in the world of bridge construction. The object of research in the article is the use of polymer composite materials in bridge structures. The design of the bridge span made of polymer composite materials is justified. A method for calculating the overall and strength characteristics of structural elements of the superstructure is proposed. The method is based on taking into account the composition and intensity of traffic and the impact of loads. In this case, the overall characteristics of the bridge structural elements are determined based on the working conditions of the superstructure and the structural material used. Experimental studies of the beam and block-shield of the superstructure made of polymer composite materials, which are integrated into the General design scheme using finite element models, have been carried out. It is confirmed that the proposed design of the bridge superstructure made of polymer composite materials has sufficient reserves of strength and rigidity.
