New type of stilling basin (sevan cascade in Armenia)
Conclusions 1. The new design of the rectangular stilling basin with the addition of an overhanging deflector of the calculated dimensions along the upper edge of the basin intensifies dissipation of the kinetic energy of the nappe by creating a circulating, eddy flow in the basin. 2. The dimensions of the basin of the new design are smaller compared to a basin without a deflector. 3. An experimental check on a model of the new basin design made it possible to introduce it in the construction of hydrostations. Long-term experience in operating the basin showed the reliability of its action and proved the expediency of using it under other analogous conditions.
