A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Abstract In the previous chapters we introduced the elements of linear viscoelasticity theory. Now, we wish to discuss how this theory is applied to concrete and which are its limitations and the approximations involved. Although the research on the internal structure of cement paste is not the business of structural engineers, some knowledge about it is both interesting and useful to understand the reasons for its macroscopic behavior and to devise more precise representations.
