On-Line Nuclear Power Reactor Accident Monitoring
Abstract One goal of the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) is to provide protection to the public from accidental radiological releases. To help achieve this goal, an on-line nuclear power reactor accident monitoring system has been developed and implemented. The purpose of the accident monitoring system is to provide IDNS Radiological Emergency Assessment Center technical analysts with current reliable plant status, radiological, and environmental data. These data are used by decision makers to determine the best possible public protective action recommendations consistent with existing and predicted risk.
