Sequential Linear Programming and the Incremental Equations of Structures
This chapter presents a general approach to problems of structural optimization. The idea is that when used with the incremental equations of structures, sequential linear programming offers a robust tool for solving structural optimization problems. This is particularly true given the potential for solving large linear programming problems cited in the Preface. Truss and frame problems, including column buckling and shape optimization, are discussed here.
