Strength Development of Lateritic Soil Stabilized by Local Nanostructured Ashes
Abstract The research performs a series of geotechnical tests to estimate the strength behavior of lateritic soil stabilized by nanostructured ash materials. The synthesized ash materials are mixed with the soil in varying proportions of 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% and 15% by weight of dry soil. The obtained results show that unconfined compressive strength and CBR of stabilized soil are remarkably improved, implying that the ash materials are good admixtures in the stabilization of lateritic soils. The main aims of this work are: (i) to convert these solid wastes to usable engineering materials and (ii) to evaluate the effect of some selected solid waste materials ashes on the behavior of stabilized soil for use in pavement and environment geotechnics works.
