Non-Linear Laser Fluence Dependence in Desorption Induced by Resonant Multiphoton Excitation of an Adsorbate Vibration
Abstract The observed non-linear fluence dependence of the desorption yield is considered when desorption is induced by resonant multiphoton excitation of an internal adsorbate vibration in the electronic ground state. The non-linearity can be due to the finite excitation time needed for the stepwise incoherent excitation above the desorption threshold. The consequences are significant for the irradiation time.
