Conditional Simulation of Ocean Wave Kinematics and Comparisons with Storm Field Measurements
Abstract Estimates of the directional wave spectrum and measurements of sea surface elevation time series are combined to produce conditional simulations of the subsurface water particle velocity time series. These simulations are compared with water particle velocities measured in North Sea storms. The conditionally simulated kinematics agree reasonably well with the data.
