Epoxy-coal tar waterproofing of structures at the Nurek hydroelectric station
Conclusions 1. Laboratory investigations and experience in the application and operation of epoxy-coal tar waterproofing showed that it can be used in the construction of hydraulic structures instead of steel under conditions of the combined effect of earth pressure to 600 tons/m2, hydrostatic head to 300 m, and constant shearing forces to 100 tons/m2. 2. The use of epoxy-coal tar waterproofing instead of steel effects a considerable saving due to a decrease in labor costs, elimination of the consumption of scarce low-carbon and stainless steels, and reduction of the time of construction and assembly work.
