Technologies such as digital twins, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Cloud Computing, Blockchain Technology and Metaverse, which comprises digital technologies for learners to interact with other users with avatars in virtual environments, enable multisensory interactions with digital objects and people such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) offer increase of efficiency, safety and sustainability. But they also represent black boxes that are e.g., gender biased or otherwise biased if not carefully and transparently researched, developed and applied based on ethical-democratic values.
