Gerotor pump with POM gears: Design, production technology, research
Based on the design principles presented in the paper titled strength analysis of the polyoxymethylene cycloidal gears of the gerotor pump, the POM gerotor pump has been designed and manufactured.
The article is a description of the principles of the POM gears manufacture process performed with the use of a specially designed injection mould. The gear system thus produced has been presented and characterized. The experimental model of the gerotor pump with the POM gears and the test stand for the pump has also been presented. The research programme of the experimental gerotor pump has been prepared and the research results presented. It has been stated that the gears of the pump can work within the range of the discharge pressure not higher than 6 MPa, at rotational speed n = 1500 -f- 2000 rev/min and the temperature of the hydraulic oil T = 50 °C. The anticipated load-carrying capacities of the gerotor pump with the POM gear system presented in strength analysis of the polyoxymethylene cycloidal gears of the gerotor pump have been confirmed by the experimental research results. As the conclusion, a general methodology of designing hydraulic elements made of plastics has been presented.
