Investigation of the contact strength of concrete dams on rock foundations
Conclusions 1. A model of the contact strength of a plate and foundation made of plaster is proposed which is based on the second theory of strength of materials. The results of laboratory experiments confirm this model. 2. The result of treating the plate experiments for the Krasnoyarsk and Bratsk stations by the proposed method of evaluating the strength of the concrete-rock joint gave a smaller scatter of the strength values than in the case of treatment by the Coulomb relation. However, the problem of the strength of the concrete-rock joint is rather complex and requires further elaboration.
