Toluene ethylation with ethanol on cadmium-promoted high-silica zeolite
Abstract The physicochemical and catalytic properties of cadmium-promoted H-ultrasil were examined in the toluene ethylation reaction. It was shown that the chemical modification of H-ultrasil with cadmium leads to a substantial decrease in both the concentration of strong acid sites and the sorption capacity of zeolites, thereby enhancing the catalyst selectivity for p-ethyltoluene.
